Childrens' Ministry
Leader: Katherine Edman
”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
Dear Parents,
Knowing right from wrong is relatively easy to teach, but teaching children to choose to do right involves shaping their hearts and their consciences. It requires sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and a desire to obey God. We offer opportunities in the Sunday School classroom for children to learn God’s message. We hope this time will help them develop a relationship with Him. Learning to love God with a deep abiding love motivates us to do the right thing out of devotion to God. Children are able to ask the simplest and at the same time the most complex questions. Parents are blessed to have been given the responsibility of giving their children the stabilizing care needed to encourage their development of a true understanding of God.
The goal of Children’s Ministry at St. Barnabas Church is to partner with parents in providing a solid Christian foundation that will serve your child throughout his or her life.
We offer Bible based teaching.
We show a connection between what the Bible says and how we should live.
Classes are fun and interactive. Children participate in the lessons, ask questions, and act in skits.
We help to develop healthy relationships with adults and peers.
We worship the Lord and pray together, “Kid’s Style”.
We provide opportunities for service and mission outreach.
Most important, we gently guide children into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
We keep you, the parent, well informed as to what is being taught throughout the Sunday School year. We at St. Barnabas hope to have the joy of walking with you on this exciting adventure with your child.
Sunday School meets at 10:15 a.m. every Sunday morning during the year. On Christmas Eve at 5 pm, a children’s program is held.
